 As classes get underway this fall, Lee’s Helen DeVos College of Education (HDCOE) and the School of Music welcome three new faculty.

Taz Kicklighter, lecturer in athletic training, has worked at Lee since 2010 as the assistant athletic trainer and clinical coordinator for the Athletic Training Education Program. Prior to that, he was the head athletic trainer and an adjunct faculty member in Health Education Sport Studies at Reinhardt University.

Kicklighter is currently pursuing his PhD in athletic training at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. He earned his MS from Georgia State University, a BS from Carson-Newman College, and a BS from Kennesaw State University.

Dr. Jason Robinson joins the HDCOE as an assistant professor of education. He has been a public school teacher for the past 15 years and a part-time lecturer at Lee. He is a past recipient of the National Science Teachers Association “Vision of Science” Award, the Fitzgerald Excellence in Education Award, Tennessee Science Teacher of the Year, and the State Farm Good Neighbor Award for Teachers. He has served on various committees of the Tennessee State Department of Education including the Advisory Council on Teacher Education and Certification.

Robinson earned his PhD at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, an MEd at Lincoln Memorial University, and a BS from Lee University.

Dr. Jonathan Rodgers joins the Department of Musicianship Studies as an assistant professor of music. Prior to Lee, he served as the administrator of the music ministry at First Baptist Church in Picayune, Miss. As a choir leader, Rodgers has performed in Italy, the West Indies, Estonia and Russia. He has been conductor of the Women’s Chorus and the Southern Chorale at the University of Southern Mississippi and assistant conductor of the Chamber Singers and the Birmingham Boys Choir.

Rodgers earned his DMA at the University of Southern Mississippi, and an MM and BM from Samford University.
