Give Day 2015, A Great Success
On Oct. 22 alumni came together for the single largest giving day in Lee University history – Give Day.
The university was presented with a matching grant challenge which stated for every 500 new alumni donors who gave to the Alumni Fund, Lee would receive $5,000. When the results were tallied, more than 650 alumni had given a total of $73, 552.

Throughout the day various decade-challenges were issued by alumni from around the country. “That was really exciting,” said Patti Cawood, director of Alumni Relations. “Having a few alumni really get into the spirit of supporting their alma mater made the rest of us take our game up a couple of notches.”
The Annual Alumni Fund supports a variety of important projects including endowed scholarships, the Young Alumni Professional Development Grant, Legacy Scholarships, and capital projects like the new nursing building.
“The success of Give Day encouraged me that alumni are beginning to understand the importance of their support, regardless of the amount,” said Dr. Jerome Hammond, vice president of University Relations. “A lot of alumni gave something, and that added up to a terrific final number.”
