The Lee University Board of Directors recently approved promotions for 15 faculty members: two to professor, nine to associate professor, two to assistant professor, and two to senior lecturer.
Dr. Delia Price was promoted to professor of education and Dr. Guy DeLoach to professor of business administration.
Price began her tenure at Lee University in 2009 as a part-time faculty member, teaching in the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education and transitioned to a full-time role in the Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Secondary Education in 2013. In addition to her faculty role, Price serves as a volunteer mentor to new teachers in surrounding districts and works with veteran teachers on special projects in the K-12 environment. Her areas of continued research include excellence in clinical practices for teacher preparation, practices for working in high-need environments, and teacher retention. She earned her Doctor of Education (EdD) and her Master of Education (MEd) from Trevecca Nazarene University and her Bachelor of Science (BS) from Tennessee Temple University.
DeLoach joined Lee’s faculty in 2005 and is a professor of business administration in the School of Business. He teaches courses in business management and organizational management and leads LeeU Anglers, Lee’s fly-fishing program. Prior to Lee, he worked as an executive vice president for a division of Toyota North America. He continues to improve operational excellence and performance by consulting across the pharmaceutical, biotech, defense, and healthcare industries. DeLoach earned his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Baker College, Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Union University, and BS from Guilford College.
The faculty promoted to associate professor in the College of Arts and Sciences are Dr. Ashley Mulligan and Dr. Andrea Phillips.
Mulligan, an associate professor of English, joined Lee University’s faculty in 2019. Outside of the classroom, Mulligan co-leads a global engagement trip to England, sponsors the Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society and the Bluestockings Club, and regularly mentors English majors through the McNair and Ledford research programs. She received her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Arts (MA) from Pennsylvania State University as well as her Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Lee University.
Phillips came to Lee in 2017 as an assistant professor from Middle Tennessee State University and now serves as an associate professor and coordinator for the public relations discipline in Communication Arts. She is the faculty sponsor for the Lee University chapter of PRSSA (a student society) and faculty advisor to the Bateman Competition team. Phillips is accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and serves on the board of the Lookout Chapter of PRSA as the accreditation chair. She earned her PhD from Texas Tech University, her MA from Dallas Theological Seminary, and her Master of Science (MS) and BS from Texas Christian University.
The faculty promoted to associate professor in the School of Theology & Ministry are Dr. Kevin Snider and Dr. Justin Walker.
Snider joined the Lee University faculty in 2016 and now serves as an associate professor of Christian ethics. Snider teaches a range of courses in moral theology and philosophical ethics, including Christian ethics, nursing ethics, and ethics of the Old Testament. His teaching invites students to explore complex questions around character formation, bioethics, technology, and moral responsibility. He earned his PhD from Middlesex University in collaboration with London School of Theology, his Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Pentecostal Theological Seminary, and his MA and BA from Lee University.
Walker joined Lee’s School of Theology & Ministry faculty in 2019, where he now serves as an associate professor of Old Testament and Christian Ministries. He was the recipient of Lee’s Excellence in Teaching Award this May, as well as the Excellence in Advising award in 2024. He graduated from Lee with a BA before earning his MDiv, Master of Theology, and PhD from Emory University. He is the author of “The Power of Images: The Poetics of Violence in Lamentations 2 and Ancient Near Eastern Art” (Peeters, 2022).
The faculty promoted to associate professor within the School of Nursing are Dr. Julie Campbell, Dr. Amy Moody, and Dr. Amy Jo Perry.
Campbell joined the Lee School of Nursing faculty in 2018 and teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. She also serves as director of graduate studies in nursing and leads accreditation and assessment for the School of Nursing. She is active in community engagement and professional service, holding a board position with Tennessee Nurses Association and contributing to national efforts for disability inclusion in healthcare education. She earned her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from King College.
Moody joined Lee’s School of Nursing faculty in 2019 and serves as the undergraduate BSN chairperson and associate professor of nursing. In addition to her faculty and chair role, she has organized nursing research fairs, a stroke readiness program, co-chaired a community health council, and served as a leader for staff education. Moody earned her DNP from Nebraska Methodist College, an MS from the University of South Alabama, and her BS from the University of Tennessee.
Perry, dean of the School of Nursing, came to Lee as a full-time faculty member in 2018 after being a part-time clinical instructor and now serves as an associate professor of nursing. Her clinical nursing background is in pediatrics and critical care, and she completed her DNP in nursing administration. Perry earned her DNP and MBA from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, her Master of Arts in Teaching from Memphis State University, a BSN from the University of Michigan, and her BA from David Lipscomb University.
In the Helen DeVos College of Education (HDCOE), Dr. Shane Brown was promoted to the rank of associate professor. Brown teaches all levels of educator preparation in the HDCOE, in addition to providing administrative oversight to all field experiences, teacher education programing, and licensure at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He earned his EdD from Liberty University and his MEd and BS at Lee University.
Dr. Holly Perleoni, director of the MBA program and associate dean of the Lee School of Business, was promoted to associate professor of marketing. She is part of the Christian Business Faculty Association, American Marketing Association, Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society, and the faculty sponsor for the women’s Lee Club Soccer team. Perleoni earned her DBA from Anderson University and both her MBA and BS from Lee University.
Dawn Bixler joined Lee’s faculty in 2023 as a lecturer and now serves as a public services librarian in the university’s Squires Library. She was recently promoted to the rank of assistant professor. Bixler earned her Master of Library and Information Science from Indiana University, her MEd in library science from Middle Tennessee State University, and a BA in elementary education at Lee.
In the School of Music, Dr. Amy Humberd was promoted to the rank of assistant professor of clarinet. She performs and presents masterclasses at venues throughout the United States and is a member of the International Clarinet Association, the College Music Society, and the National Association for Music Education. Humberd earned her Doctor of Music from Florida State University, a Master of Music from Indiana University, and her Bachelor of Music Education from Lee University.
Amanda Jones graduated from Lee University in 2009, where she received the Mathematics Education Award. She returned to Lee in 2013 and now serves as a senior lecturer in mathematics, teaching courses in the mathematics core, including Concepts of Mathematics for elementary education majors. She earned her MS in mathematical sciences from Clemson University and an Education Specialist degree from Lee in 2024. She is currently pursuing her EdD.
Amy Blake joined Lee’s faculty in 2015 and was recently promoted to senior lecturer in the School of Nursing. Prior to Lee, she served as adjunct faculty and clinical instructor at Cleveland State Community College and worked at Skyridge Medical Center. She is the chair of the Undergraduate Admission and Retention Committee and the CARES Coordinator for student success in the School of Nursing. Blake earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Southern Adventist University, her BSN from Georgia Baptist College, and a BS from Auburn University.
