Lee University has announced the establishment of the Dr. Allan Lockerman/First Baptist Church Scholarship, created in partnership with First Baptist Cleveland to support students preparing for ministry and service in the Church.

The scholarship was announced during a recent service at First Baptist Cleveland (FBC) honoring Pastor Emeritus Dr. Allan Lockerman for more than 20 years of faithful leadership. The initiative grew out of a conversation between Lee leadership and Jordan Easley, senior pastor of FBC, who shared a vision for investing in future ministry leaders.

“For over 20 years, Dr. Lockerman faithfully shepherded this church family, preaching God’s Word, leading with integrity, and loving people well,” said Easley. “As an expression of our gratitude and our desire to honor his legacy, we are pleased to partner with our friends at Lee University to establish the Allan Lockerman Scholarship, investing in the next generation of ministry leaders and pastors, equipping them to serve the Lord and strengthen His Church.”

Established by FBC in Cleveland, Tennessee, the scholarship recognizes Lockerman’s lasting impact on the congregation and the broader Christian community.

“Dr. Allan Lockerman’s legacy is one of faithful leadership, spiritual investment, and unwavering commitment to the Church,” said Dr. Phil Cook, president of Lee University. “We are grateful for this partnership with First Baptist Cleveland and for the opportunity to support students who are called to ministry. This scholarship will help equip future leaders to serve with the same faithfulness and integrity Dr. Lockerman has modeled for many years.”

The scholarship will be awarded to junior or senior students who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and financial need.
