Family Force 5 to Kick Off U-Church Next Sunday

News

Family Force 5 (FF5), a Christian rock band and a
favorite among Lee University students, will return to open Lee’s U-Church
concert series on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.

The group started as a family band in Atlanta Ga., and since their first album
release in 2006, has developed as a prominent artist of the rock scene. The band
has since released four studio albums, as well as two dance remix albums.

“This group has been a favorite of Lee students ever since they first
appeared on our campus, so we keep trying to bring them back to U-Church,” said
Dr. Walt Mauldin, vice president for administration. “Family Force 5 is an
experience within itself.”

FF5 has received numerous awards
including Yahoo’s Who’s Next, MTVU’s Freshman Class, and the AP Reader’s Choice,
and continue to create punk, rock, electronic, and dance fusion that demands a
party.

“Family Force 5 is a real, authentic community that
transcends the music,” said FF5 guitarist Derek Mount. “We make music that we
love, and we hope other people love it too, whether it makes them break-dance,
two-step, or simply smile.”

U-Church is a free, non-ticketed event
for students, alumni and the community. Seating is first come, first serve.

Childcare is available for all who attend. Please contact Christie
