Fall Convocation Begins Sunday

News

Lee University students, faculty, and staff will soon come together for fall Convocation, a concentration of six chapel services in four days. This time of spiritual reflection and renewal will begin on Sunday, Oct. 2, with a time of worship and a message from Lee president Dr. Paul Conn.

Pastor Loran Livingston will be one of the keynote speakers, speaking on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Pastor of Central Church of God in Charlotte, N.C., and a Lee alumnus, he has spoken many times at Lee’s chapels and convocations.

Tom Sterbens, senior pastor at New Hope Church in Sevierville, Tenn., will speak during the Wednesday evening service. Prior to moving to Sevierville, Sterbens served in Fort Meyers, Fla. for 16 years. He is also an accomplished musician and songwriter.

The week’s all-music morning services will be led by campus ensembles. Campus Choir will lead worship on Tuesday morning, with Evangelistic Singers on Thursday.

Weeknight services begin at 7:30 p.m. and morning services at 10:40 a.m. in the Conn Center.

Lee encourages all students and guests to come out and participate in this semester’s Convocation. For more information about this and other chapel events, contact the Campus Ministry office at (423) 614-8420.
