Evangelistic Singers to Honor MLK Day with Concert

Lee University choir, Evangelistic Singers, will host a concert on Monday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Conn Center in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

EVS strike to seek God through the art of worship within the avenue of spirituals, traditional and contemporary black gospel music. The EVS mission is to “seek and save the lost” through song ministry and service to the community.

The Evangelistic Singers will also perform at the annual Dream Keeper Award Ceremony being hosted by the Bradley County NAACP, in partnership with the 100 Black Men of Bradley County and Lee University Monday evening.

The Dream Keeper award recipients are minority students in the city and county school systems who have maintained a 3.0 grade point average or above in grades seven through 12 throughout the first semester of school.

Evangelist and Lee Assistant Professor of Accounting Ingrid Hart is the keynote speaker for the event.

Lee faculty members are also honoring MLK Day through special classroom lectures as part of the “Remember! Celebrate! Act!” series on Jan. 16 and 17.
