ESL Classes Offered to Community
Lee University’s Department of Language and Literature is offering free English language courses to the community, now through Nov. 14. The program, now in its third year, is specially designed for beginning to low-intermediate English learners and takes place on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
“The English Language Center is a wonderful resource for adults in the community from all language backgrounds who wish to improve their English skills,” said Dr. Christopher Blake, director of the ELC and assistant professor of TESOL and Linguistics at Lee.
“A great feature of the course is the excellent teacher-student ratio which means that students will have a lot of opportunity each evening to practice their English and receive feedback from native English speakers.”
The class is designed to be unlike other programs of its type. The instructors, all of whom are trained in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), work with each student individually to address their specific needs.
