Marian Dill, director of financial aid at Lee University, has been named President-Elect of The Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA).
“I consider it an honor to be elected and am excited about the opportunity to serve alongside other financial aid professionals,” said Dill. “My goal is to ensure the continuation of SASFAA’s long-standing stellar training, legislative advocacy, financial stability and reputation as a professional organization.”
While holding the office of president-elect, Dill will be responsible to serve as parliamentarian to the Board, represent SASFAA at various state meetings, provide counsel and guidance to the president and the board, select and work with all committee chairs and liaisons, and any other duties as requested by the president.
“I believe service on various professional boards has strengthened my leadership skills. Networking with other financial aid professionals is key and has proven to be priceless over the years in navigating the ever-changing regulatory landscape,” said Dill.
Dill served as the Vice President of SASFAA from 2014-2015, the Membership Chair from 2013-2014, a trainer for the New Aid Officers Workshop in 2012 and 2013, and the Budget and Finance Chair from 2010-2013. Her involvement with SASFAA began in 2009 when she served as president for The Tennessee Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. In this position, she was also considered the Tennessee representative on the SASFAA board.
Dill earned her master’s of education in community counseling at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, her bachelor’s in human services at Tennessee Wesleyan College, and an associate’s degree in computer science from Tomlinson College.
Dill is among six Tennesseans to have had the opportunity to hold this office, and the Volunteer State has hosted the SASFAA Summer Workshop six different times.
