By Britain Miethe

Tim Diamond, a senior accounting major at Lee University, was recently awarded a scholarship from the Tennessee Society of Certified Professional Accountants (TSCPA).

Diamond was one of 123 students from 41 colleges and universities across Tennessee selected for this scholarship. Scholarship amounts varied and totaled more than $250,000.

“I am honored to receive such an award and am using it to achieve my goal of being a certified public accountant in the near future,” said Diamond.

Diamond applied for the scholarship upon the recommendation of his advisor, Lee Assistant
Professor of Accounting Gregory Della Franco.

“Tim’s work ethic and intelligence will serve to make the return on the scholarship investment rewarding for him and the TSCPA,” said Della Franco.

The TSCPA is the state professional organization for certified public accountants who are principally employed or reside in Tennessee. The society’s membership is comprised of more than 9,000 members in industry, government, business, education and public accounting.

With more than 100 years of service to the accounting profession, the TSCPA acts on behalf of its members and provides support, enabling its members to perform quality professional services while serving the public interest.
