Lee University’s Center for Responsible Citizenship (CRC) will host its Eighth Annual Symposium on Civic Virtue and Thought on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27-28.

The theme this year is “Faith in the Public Square.” Faculty and students from the university, regional colleges, and members of the broader community will gather for two days to “consider responsible Christian citizenship, pluralism, the separation of Church and State, and how our faith can inform our daily lives,” said CRC Director Dr. Thomas Pope.

The full symposium includes several small-group discussion seminars and a keynote lecture by Dr. Alan Noble of Oklahoma Baptist University.

Noble has written extensively about the opportunities and challenges of faith in the modern world. He is co-founder and editor of Christ & Pop Culture and several other books such as “You Are Not Your Own” and “Disruptive Witness,” that examine how to be a faithful Christian who does not retreat from society.

“This is a great opportunity to gather with members of our community to consider the questions that connect us and shape our values,” said Audrey Haley, CRC’s program coordinator.

The keynote lecture is free and open to the public and will take place at 5 p.m. on Lee’s campus in the Education Building, Room 114.

This symposium series is made possible thanks to the support of the Jack Miller Center and members of the broader Cleveland community.
