The Lee University Chorale will present its fall concert, “Essentials of Life: Love, Joy, and Peace,” on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m., in the Lee Chapel on Lee’s campus.

The concert will feature pieces that aim to uplift and encourage the audience. “I tried to find music that brings our thoughts back to a few of the essentials of life that are much more harmonizing than the divisive talk that we often hear in our culture,” said Dr. William Green, dean of the School of Music and director of Chorale. “Love, joy, and peace. What a different perspective we have when we can center on those things that make our lives better.”

The performance will include works such as “A Song of Peace” by Jean Sibelius, Mack Wilberg’s Jubilate Deo,” “Joy” by Hans Bridger Heruth, and more.

Green will conduct the concert, along with graduate student Lorali Carbajal-Reyna. School of Music faculty Dr. ChoEun Lee and Dr. Muen Vanessa Wei are accompanists for the performance.

The Lee University Chorale is an ensemble of highly motivated vocalists who are selected by audition. An emphasis is placed on the diversity and breadth of advanced, artistic choral literature. Chorale has been featured in performances with the Chattanooga Symphony, at Carnegie Hall, and throughout Europe.

The Tuesday evening performance is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. The concert will also be available for livestream viewing, which can be found at leeu.live.
