Choral Union Concert Spring 2025
Choral Union, Spring 2025

The Lee University Choral Union will present its spring concert “From Darkness to Light” on Tuesday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Pangle Hall.
“This concert journeys from the darkness of humanity apart from God to the radiant light of Jesus,” said Dr. Kay Dick, director of Choral Union. “As we sing, we move from despair to hope—discovering that Christ is the true source of light.”
According to Dick, the concert will showcase different music styles, silence, spoken word, and video art.
Choral Union is an ensemble consisting of both music and non-music majors and is open to any student who is interested with no audition required.
In addition to directing Choral Union, Dick is an associate professor of music education at Lee. She is an active clinician and adjudicator with more than 40 years of experience teaching music and leading choirs of all ages in diverse styles.
Her passion for uniting and uplifting people through music shaped her dissertation, “Intersecting Social Justice and the Secondary Choral Classroom,” which she has presented nationally and internationally. Her cross-cultural research has inspired unity concerts, intergenerational festivals, collaborations with inner-city churches, choirs for students with disabilities, and work across Europe, Africa, and Greece.
Dick holds degrees from Auburn University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Louisiana Christian University.
“We hope everyone will join us for an evening that awakens the soul and reminds us that even in darkness, our voices can lead us home,” said Dick.
The performance is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. Pangle Hall is located on the corner of Church Street and Central Avenue.
