Lee University Choral Union will present “The Story: A Musical Journey Through the Bible” on Thursday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Pangle Hall.

This performance, directed by Dr. Cameron Weatherford, assistant professor of choral music, will tell through song significant stories from throughout the Old and New Testaments. The concert will feature compositions by Brandon Boyd, Felix Mendelssohn, and Rosephanye Powell, among others.

“The Choral Union singers have worked incredibly hard to prepare not just musically, but spiritually, for this event, and we are honored to share it with the audience,” said Weatherford.

Weatherford joined the full-time School of Music faculty in 2021. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in choral music and conducting Choral Union, Weatherford also conducts the all-women ensemble The Ladies of Lee. He received first place in the National American Choral Directors Association graduate conducting competition held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and in 2016, he won the Louisiana Young Music Educator Award.

Choral Union is an ensemble consisting of both music and non-music majors and is open to any student who is interested with no audition required.

This non-ticketed event is free and open to the public. Pangle Hall is located on the corner of Church Street and Central Avenue.
