Children’s Choir Auditions Coming Soon
Students who love to sing will not want to miss the opportunity to join the Lee University Children’s Chorale. Auditions will be held Saturday, Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Monday, Jan. 16 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Curtsinger Music Building on Lee’s campus.
Lee University Children’s Chorale is a community choir which was established in 1996 to provide supplemental singing experiences for Cleveland area children in the 3rd- 8th grades. The enrichment program focuses on vocal development, musical training and performance.
The chorale is under the direction of Emily Harbin. Harbin holds a Master of Music in vocal performance from Lee, and she is currently teaching voice and working with recruitment in Lee’s School of Music.
Harbin asks that students be prepared to sing the first verse of “America” which is often known as “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.”
Tuition is $100 for the semester and parents are responsible for purchasing a uniform. Rehearsals will be Monday evenings from 6-7:30 in the Curtsinger Music Building starting Jan. 23.
Auditions can be scheduled for the spring semester by calling Harbin at 423-614-8675. For more information, contact the Lee University Department of Vocal Music at 423-614-8256.
