Chattanooga Symphony, Next Presidential Concert Series Guest

News

Lee University is pleased to welcome the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra (CSO) on Monday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. as the second performance of this year’s Presidential Concert Series.

Back by popular demand, the orchestra will perform in the Conn Center under the baton of new maestra Kayoko Dan, featuring solo pianist Ning An.

The concert program will be identical to the previous weekend performances at the Tivoli. The ensemble will present Overture to Fidelio by Beethoven, Concerto in A minor by Grieg, and Brahms’ Symphony No. 1.

An, accomplished pianist and music professor at Lee, has appeared with the London Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic, the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra and many more. He has been invited to perform at several music festivals and is the recipient of top prizes from associations world-wide.

Dan, a native of Japan, pursued her music education at the University of Texas and Arizona State University. Previously, she served as Assistant Conductor of the Phoenix Symphony and Music Director of Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras, and is in high demand as a clinician at high schools, youth orchestras, and regional orchestras throughout the country.

Tickets will be available at the Lee University Box Office in the Dixon Center, or by phone at 614-8343, one week prior to the concert between 3-6 p.m.
