Campbell Crowned Homecoming Queen at Lee

Caroline Campbell was crowned Lee University’s 2014 Homecoming Queen on Saturday, Nov. 8, as part of the school’s Homecoming festivities.

Campbell is the daughter of Roger and Krista Gibson of Huntsville, Alabama. She is an accounting major and serves as the secretary of Phi Beta Lambda and is a peer leader for First-Year Programs. She is also involved in Delta Mu Delta and Phi Eta Sigma. Campbell was escorted by her fiancé, Nathan Bivens.

Bivens is the son of Michael and Sharon Bivens of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is a telecommunications major and is involved with Phi Eta Sigma and works as the lead photographer in the Office of Publications.

The senior class was also represented by Kara Smith, escorted by Michael Colander, Rebecca Thomas, escorted by CJ Minor, and Briana Yankie, escorted by Chad Turner.

Smith is the daughter of Kim and Jeff Smith of Ooltewah, Tennessee. She is a mathematics education major. She serves as a peer leader, a student worker in the mathematics department, a scorekeeper for various intramural sports, and is the captain of the “Make Mia Hamm Sandwich” intramural sports teams.

Colander is the son of Tim and Lora Colander of Castle Rock, Colorado. He is a digital media major with an emphasis in studio production. Colander works for the Lee Video Production Center, is a camera man for Lee Basketball Games, and is an intramural sports supervisor.

Thomas is the daughter of Dave and Sharon Thomas of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She is a business administration major with an emphasis in management. Thomas is the president of Phi Beta Lambda, a peer leader, a small group leader for Elevation Student Ministries, and is a member of Delta Mu Delta, Alpha Chi, and Phi Eta Sigma.

Minor is the son of Chris and Christy Minor of Belton, South Carolina. He is a Bible and theology major and is a resident assistant for O’Bannon Hall.

Yankie is the daughter of Wayne and Mollie Yankie of Antioch, Tennessee. She is a mathematics education major. Yankie has served as a peer leader, the president of Big Pal Little Pal, and is a student worker in the mathematics department.

Turner is the son of Tony and Lisa Turner of Nashville, Tennessee. He is a digital media major. Turner has served as a resident assistant, and is currently a peer leader as well as the captain of the Lee University Ping Pong Club. He also works in the Office of Student Development and is an intern photographer for the Office of Publications.

Junior class representatives were Emily Newton, escorted by Joshua Forakis, and Natalie Young, escorted by Joshua Murphy.
Newton is the daughter of Christian and Christine Newton of Mount Dora, Florida. Forakis is the son of Jim and Amy Forakis of Savannah, Tennessee.

Young is the daughter of Kelly and Dee Dee Young of Knoxville, Tennessee. Murphy is the son of Patrick and Linda Murphy of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Sophomore class representatives were Sarah Freeman, escorted by her brother Jim Freeman, and Kelsey Lowe, escorted by Blake Smith.

Sarah Freeman is the daughter of Denise Freeman of Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Jim Freeman is also the son of Denise Freeman.

Freshman class representatives were Izzy Lamb, escorted by Eli Hammonds, and Michaela Micco, escorted by Carter Music.

Lamb is the daughter of David and Sonya Lamb of Birmingham, Alabama. Hammonds is the son of Terry and Yvonne Hammonds of Newark, Ohio.

Micco is the daughter of Jill and Mike Micco of Nashville, Tennessee. Music is the son of Chris and Charlotte Music of Lexington, Kentucky.

The Homecoming Court was presented at half-time of the Flames basketball game on Saturday, Nov. 8.
