Cagna crowned 2023
Karli Tilley, Miss POF 2022, is shown here crowning Miss POF 2023, Sarah Cagna.

Sarah Cagna, a senior elementary education major, was named Miss Parade of Favorites on Friday, Oct. 20, at Lee University’s annual student-led showcase, featuring representatives from 10 different student organizations.

Cagna represented Alpha Gamma Chi, and her escort for the night was Micah Grow. Cagna also received the Service Award for volunteering with the Austin Hatcher Foundation, Head Strong Foundation, Heritage Fellowship Church of God, and Christ Church Nashville.

Alyssa Jones was the first runner-up and recipient of the Miss Congeniality Award. She represented Omega Alpha Phi and was escorted by Zachary Rentzel.

Kylie Pereira, second runner-up, represented Sigma Nu Sigma and was escorted by Tyler Ivory.

Upsilon Xi’s representative Mary Rocheleau was third runner-up and won the Interview Award. She was escorted by Connor Spence.

Belia Jackson, Epsilon Lambda Phi’s representative, won the Kay McDaniel Woman of Achievement Award, presented to the contestant who overcomes great physical barriers. She was escorted by Tony Venegas.

Kylie Mascia represented Delta Zeta Tau and was the recipient of the Talent Award for her performance of a Whitney Houston mashup. Mascia was escorted by Ian Mayes.

Seth Countess, Ruthie Newton’s escort, won the Escort of the Year Award.

At the Parade of Favorites, various campus clubs and organizations select representatives to compete on the club’s behalf. This year’s theme was “Enchanted Evening,” which represented the “happily ever after” that every girl deserves. Raylee Evans, a senior public relations major, directed the event.

“From the tech crew and judges to the participation of family and friends, the night was perfect, and I wouldn’t change anything about it,” said Evans. “As long as people knew what the theme was, had fun, and learned about our service organization partner, WillowBend Farms, then the night was a success!”

WillowBend Farms is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the fight to end human trafficking. This year, POF participants and escorts served WillowBend Farms by raising awareness in the Cleveland community, as well as raising over $500 for the organization.
