News

“Buy a Tree. Change a Life.,” a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children globally and locally through an annual Christmas tree sale, opened Saturday in Lee University’s Schimmels Park.

Over 100 people stopped by Schimmels Park this past weekend to pick up a Christmas tree, take a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus, grab a holiday drink, decorate cookies, and write letters to Santa, all while supporting a good cause.

“Buy A Tree. Change A Life. at Lee University is a win-win,” said Lee University’s Dr. William Lamb, director of the Leonard Center. “Despite a heavy rainstorm on opening day, we had customers lined up to buy a tree.”

Trees will be sold through Sunday, Dec. 1, excluding Thanksgiving Day, while supplies last. Hours of operation are 12-9 p.m.

“Trees are going quickly, so be sure to stop by and pick up a tree soon,” said Lamb.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the tree sales will be used to help local kids within the Cleveland community, as well as Lee students through scholarship opportunities.
