Dr. Jerome Boone, professor of Old Testament and Christian formation at Lee, has co-authored with his wife, Sandra Boone, a book released at the end of July titled “Thanksgiving Psalms: A Path to Praise.”

The book was released by the Department of Adult Discipleship in the Church of God and is written as an inductive Bible study on the thanksgiving psalms. According to Dr. Boone the study is meant to help sharpen skills in biblical interpretation and encourage readers to better understand worshipful praise through 12 lessons. The ultimate goal is to lead believers to incorporate what they have learned into their daily routines and practices so that they may continue the practice of thanksgiving and praise, even after the study is complete.

“The work on the thanksgiving psalms gave Sandi and me the opportunity to bring together our many years of experience with inductive Bible study and apply it to the Psalms,” said Dr. Boone. “The inductive approach to Bible study creates Spirit-led engagement between the student of Scripture and the biblical text.”

Dr. Jerome Boone joined the Lee faculty in 1976 and customarily teaches Biblical Studies, Mission of the Church, Old Testament Theology, and Christian Formation. He earned his Doctor of Ministry at Columbia Theological Seminary, his master’s degree from Wheaton College, and his bachelor’s degree from Lee College.

He received the Excellence in Teaching Award in 1982 for his outstanding classroom performance and the Excellence in Scholarship Award in 1997. Attesting to his continuous research and scholarly publication, Boone earned an ACA Research Grant. He has presented both nationally and internationally for groups such as the Evangelical Theological Society, the Society for Pentecostal Studies, and the Society of Biblical Literature.

The book is available for purchase at COGLifebuilders or WomenofPowerCOG, or call (888) 766-9009 or (855) 624-4523.
