The 2013 Southeastern Autism Symposium will be held at Lee University this June, providing a special opportunity to educate the public about autism and issues within the autism community. The symposium will take place Friday, June 21 at Lee’s Helen DeVos College of Education.

Geared toward parents, caregivers, medical professionals and educators of individuals with autism, the symposium hopes to provide attendees with new tools to manage the complexities of autism.

This year’s symposium, titled “Lights, Camera, Action!,” will include sessions from 8 a.m. through dinner, and both lunch and dinner will be available. Participants will have the option to attend sessions only, attend sessions and lunch only, or attend the full event with lunch and dinner included.

During the week of the symposium, Lee will host the 4th annual Camp Spectrum, a day camp for individuals with autism ages 4 to adult. The camp begins with registration every morning at 8 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. There will be activities on the Lee University campus in addition to swimming at the YMCA and therapeutic horseback riding. The camp runs Monday, June 17 through Thursday, June 20.
