Auditions for Lee Children's Chorale to Take Place Monday

News

Lee University’s Children’s Chorale (LUCC) will hold auditions Monday, Sept. 12 from 5:30–6:30 p.m. in the Curtsinger Music Building, Room 200.

The auditions will consist of a prepared piece brought in by the student, pitch matching, and vocal exploration.

The Chorale is a great opportunity for students to be involved in a community ensemble that is committed to excellence. Students will be encouraged to grow both as musicians and singers throughout rehearsal and enjoy performing music that will challenge and inspire them.

The LUCC is made up of two separate choirs: Training Choir, which is made up of Grades 1-3, and Advanced Choir, which is made up of Grades 4-8.

Lee welcomes a new director for the LUCC, Darla Boyd, who currently serves as the choral director at Bradley Central High School where she conducts the Ambassador Concert Choir and Vocal Motion show choir. She holds a music education degree from the Florida State University School of Music. Boyd has an immense passion for reaching and inspiring her students through music.

A rehearsal for both choirs will immediately follow the auditions this Monday, from 6:30-7:30 for Advanced Choir, and 6:30-7 for Training Choir.

Tuition for the ensemble is $100 for the Advanced Choir and $50 for the Training Choir. Discounts are available for families with two or more students involved.

Regular rehearsals will take place Mondays from 6-7:30 p.m. for the Advanced Choir, and 6-6:45 p.m. for the Training Choir.
