Annual Alumni Fund Sets a New Record
Lee alumni are creating a culture of giving. Despite what many colleges are conceding is a period of declining support, Lee’s Annual Alumni Fund again reached a new record in 2015 with more than $400,000 in receipts. Gifts to the fund, which are included in Lee’s Find Us Faithful Campaign, now account for more than $1.7 million of the campaign’s overall progress.
“The few and large gifts will always be important to the university,” explained vice president for University Relations, Jerome Hammond. “But our true heroes are those Lee alums who consistently give smaller donations to the Annual Alumni Fund. Over the last five years we’ve experienced an important change in the Lee alumni culture as they’ve understood this reality. That’s how we’ve set a record for three consecutive years.”
“The percentage of Lee alumni who give annually has been rising in recent years, and we are looking toward the day when Lee can count the majority of alums as its supporters,” said Patti Cawood, Director of Alumni Relations. “We hope the Find Us Faithful campaign will show more alumni how all our gifts add up to big changes for students.”
The Annual Alumni Fund is Lee’s largest and most consistent source of unrestricted support.
The Alumni Fund provides much needed funding for capital expansions, scholarships, and programs to benefit more than 4,000 Lee students.
