Lee University’s U-Church series will return for the first time since February 20 20 with “Come to the Table, An Evening of Worship” led by LeeU Worship on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.

“Prior to the pandemic, we had offered this service every semester for 12 years as part of the U-Church Concert Series,” said Josh York, Lee’s director of facilities management. “We are so excited to be able to once again gather together on a Sunday night in the Conn Center as a Lee community to proclaim the name of Jesus. We encourage students to take time out of their busy schedules to join us for this 60-minute service.”

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, LeeU Worship would host one U-Church event every semester titled “Come to the Table, An Evening of Worship.” The series model centered on communion, student-led worship, and creative production provided by the LeeU Tech Crew. The theme this semester is based on Isaiah 6 and will lead students on a journey through recognizing the presence of God, repentance, and to a place of total commitment to the mission and will of God in their lives.

“These evenings of worship are some of the most powerful worship encounters we offer at Lee,” said Dr. Brad Moffett, vice president for university relations and director of LeeU Worship. “The student body seems to always arrive with an expectant heart to experience the presence of God and to lift their voices as a powerful army of worshipers.”

LeeU Worship is a collective of student songwriters, worship leaders and musicians who have a heart to lead their peers on the Lee University campus in meaningful worship encounters. LeeU Worship released an album in 2017 made up of 10 original songs ranging in style from the typical up tempo layered electronic sound, powerful ballads, and a modern hymn based the New Testament text the early church sang.

U-Church is a free, non-ticketed event, open to students, alumni, and the community. Seating is first come, first served. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
