The International Student Admissions Advisor is primarily responsible for processing and the maintenance of international student applications submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as well as supporting the admissions process of non-international students. This is a full-time, hourly, twelve-month position, and the individual must be able and willing to work special events which will include some evenings and weekends. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Undergraduate Admissions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The specific job functions of this position may include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for supporting the Admissions Specialist with transcript review and admissions processes for accepting new students.
- Maintain documents and visa statuses for new and current international students
- Counsels international students regarding filing of immigration forms and applications, maintaining visa status, and admissions processes
- Evaluates transcripts, immigration visas and financial support documents for international applicants to Lee University.
- Enters required information in the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (USCIS) database and Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) for international students as a Designated School Official (DSO) by USCIS.
- Updates and maintains visa, citizenship, and residency data for international students in the Student Administration System.
- Enters all application data accurately into the institutional CRM, TargetX and Colleague
- Correspond with Admissions Counselors regarding the status of their applicants
- Assist with processing letters to applicants and merit scholarship recipients when needed
- Provide phone support for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions
- Assist with special recruitment activities (LeeU Preview, Lee Day, registration, etc.)
- Assist with the enrollment activities with Academic Services and the Records Office as necessary
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service through verbal and written communication
- Must have the ability to stay on task despite interruptions from phone and email
- Must be multi-task oriented and be willing to handle multiple projects at once
- Possess strong organizational and people skills
- Maintain positive, professional image and a strong work ethic
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word and can learn other required programs such as Target X and Colleague
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Related experience is preferred

While performing the duties of this position, the International Student Admissions Advisor will spend most of their time sitting at their desk. However, throughout the day there may be occasions when it would be necessary to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, kneel, or bend. During special events such as LeeU Preview, Lee Day or registration and other recruitment activities the position may require some additional standing or walking. The International Student Admissions Advisor must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
