Student Success Coaches will support a roster of approximately 300 undergraduate students, focusing on student success and persistence to graduation. Coaches will provide guidance in non-cognitive skill development, academic planning, utilizing resources, and campus engagement. They will contact and meet with students frequently and maintain records on each of their assigned students. Coaches will report directly to the HUB Student Success Center Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the HUB Director on student success and retention initiatives and supports
- Maintain regularly scheduled one-on-one coaching appointments with incoming and current students with a particular emphasis on freshman and probation students
- Assign and maintain coaching roster
- Supervise HUB student workers and peer mentors
- Attend all Student Success Coach training sessions
- Provide accountability for students with course scheduling, time management, and long-range planning based on student needs, strengths, and goals
- Provide support, services, assistance, and referrals to appropriate university offices
- Input qualitative and quantitative data into student success software
- Provide presentations on Student Success related topics in classroom settings and at campus events
- Provide walk-in services, short-term interventions, and digital guidance as needed
- Contact current and prospective students by phone prior to the start of fall semester
- Respond to HUB email and social media
- Provide and maintain
- Work on additional tasks assigned by the HUB Student Success Center Director

- Excellent written and verbal communication, including active listening skills;
- Desire to contribute to a positive and harmonious team environment;
- Highly motivated to serve students and encourage their educational goals;
- Comfort with both one-on-one and group facilitation;
- Motivated to learn new skills; able to deliver and receive constructive feedback;
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Background in education, student support, psychology, or counseling knowledge and skills
