The School of Nursing at Lee University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in nursing.

The tenure track position for candidates with a Doctorate will begin August 2024 at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates with the MSN will begin at the rank of Lecturer in August 2024. The ability and willingness to teach courses in both undergraduate (BSN) and graduate (DNP) programs is desired. Family Nurse Practitioners with experience in primary care and individuals from underrepresented populations are strongly encouraged to apply.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties include teaching both introductory and upper-division courses in nursing  (didactic, laboratory, clinical); scholarship involvement; service at the department, university, community, and professional levels; mentoring students; and working cooperatively with faculty and staff across the campus.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications include Christian commitment and an ability to integrate elements of the Christian faith into course materials; preferred Doctorate in nursing (PhD, DNP) or related field (MSN required if doctorate not in nursing); scholarship endeavors; ability to integrate Christian faith into teaching-learning experiences; possession of/eligible for an unencumbered Tennessee Nursing License. The license must be obtained by the start date. Individuals with educational preparation and teaching/practice experiences in the following areas are encouraged to apply: Primary Care, Pediatrics, Maternal/Newborn, Medical/Surgical Nursing, and Intensive Care. Recent teaching, clinical experience, online teaching, and research experience desirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be able to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Bending for filing is sometimes required. Extended time in front of a computer screen is necessary. Applicants must be physically able to perform all duties required of an instructor in various clinical settings.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a full-time position working in an office, classroom, and/or clinical environment with a low to moderate noise level.
