The Department of Communication Arts within the College of Arts and Sciences at Lee University, Cleveland, TN, invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor position of Art starting in August 2026. We seek an engaging, innovative, dedicated artist with a passion for both teaching and advancing the program and the discipline. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the Art & Design program at Lee University through curriculum development, mentoring, and creative research.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will contribute to a collaborative academic environment by teaching a diverse range of studio art courses, and possibly art history and gallery management, while fostering student engagement and community partnerships. Lee University faculty candidates are expected to demonstrate the following: a strong Christian commitment, compatibility with the university’s lifestyle covenant, teaching ability at the college level, a willingness to mentor students academically and professionally, and the ability to integrate Christian faith into academic studies.
EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE
- MFA in Studio Art
- Strong record of effective teaching
