ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MUSICOLOGY

The School of Music at Lee University invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Musicology to begin in August of 2024. The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher with a passion for student growth and achievement. In addition to excellent teaching and professional scholarship, this person will be committed to mentoring students in a Christian liberal arts context. Rank is commensurate with experience. DUTIES
Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in music history, literature, research techniques, and related fields; maintaining an active program of research and scholarly work; and mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will hold a Ph.D. in musicology supplemented with an ability to contribute to other areas in addition to their area of concentration.  These areas could include music theory, music education, music & worship, or music industry. A genuine Christian commitment is essential, as is the ability to model the integration of faith and learning. A record of successful collegiate teaching is desired as well as a demonstrated potential for scholarly productivity. Individuals from underrepresented populations are strongly encouraged to apply.
