Iceland
The 7-night, 8-day trip to Iceland is intended to introduce engineering students to a culture of people and engineering infrastructure that uniquely exists because of its geographical location and geological landscape. While Icelandic is the native language, English is taught and spoken fluently by most Icelandic people. This removes much of the language barrier and will aid in the daily engagement of the culture.

Our initial destination will be Reykjavik, the capital. Geothermal pools exist in many locations around Iceland. These are a common gathering place for locals, where we will begin interacting with the culture. We will unwind at a local pool in the capital before checking into our lodging, located a few minutes from the capital's center. This puts us within walking distance of many attractions and commerce to observe and interact with the flow of life and observe a culture's infrastructure in an arctic climate with nearly 21 hours of daylight.
