The UK Commercial Music trip will aid students in the exploration and understanding of the development and sustainability of the music industry in the United Kingdom, with focus on Greater London as it pertains to the history and modern-day operations of music publishing, artistry in performance, record companies, touring, audio recording and mixing, while allowing them to engage in extensive dialog with these indigenous UK publishers, performers, and record label executives. Asking ourselves, “What can we learn from their perspective as protectors and creators of music in the UK? What is it like to live in the UK as these protectors and creators of music?”
