Lee University’s School of Music will present the annual Masterworks concert, “Illuminare,” on Thursday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.

Masterworks, led by Dr. Cameron Weatherford, Dr. Leonardo Rosario, and Dr. Kay Dick, will feature performances by Lee University’s Choral Union, Chorale, and Orchestra, along with the Collegedale Academy Choir and Orchestra.

The concert will showcase Elaine Hagenberg’s “Illuminare” and other selections, including “Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern” by Bach and “Arise, Shine!” by Dan Forrest.

Choral Union, directed by Dick, is an ensemble consisting of both music and non-music majors that performs choral music and major masterworks for mixed chorus and orchestra. Dick joined the School of Music faculty in 2024, where she serves as an associate professor and coordinator of music education.

Directed by Weatherford, Chorale is an ensemble of highly motivated vocalists with an emphasis on the diversity and breadth of traditional choral literature. Weatherford joined the School of Music faculty in 2021 and serves as assistant professor of choral music. He teaches undergraduate and graduate choral music courses and directs Ladies of Lee.

Directed by Rosario, the Symphony Orchestra is made up of select instrumentalists and performs major works spanning operatic, choral, and large-scale symphonic repertoire. Rosario joined the faculty in 2025 as assistant professor of strings and teaches violin, viola, and conducting at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The concert is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. Livestream viewing will be available at leeu.live.
