Lee University’s Wind Ensemble will present its final spring concert, “Metamorphosis,” on Tuesday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Conn Center on Lee’s campus.

The performance will feature a variety of pieces, including “Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral” by Richard Wagner, “Symphonic Metamorphosis” by Paul Hindemith, the premiere performance of “Symphonic Variant” by David Holsinger, and more.

“This concert has a little bit of everything,” said Dr. Josh Pace, director of the Wind Ensemble. “From concert band classics to a premiere of new music, this performance showcases a program we are calling ‘Metamorphosis.’ Much of the program reflects how wind band music has transformed – or metamorphosed – over time, including the grand finale of ‘Symphonic Metamorphosis’ by Paul Hindemith presented in a powerful and dynamic way.”

In addition to serving as assistant professor of music education and conductor of Lee’s Wind Ensemble, Pace teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in music education, conducting, and supervises student teachers. Prior to Lee, Pace was a high school band and orchestra director in Omaha, Nebraska. He earned his doctorate in wind band conducting at the University of Florida.
The Lee University Wind Ensemble is committed to the highest level of performance of instrumental ensemble literature for winds and percussion and performs special concerts on Lee’s campus throughout the year.

The concert is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. Livestream viewing will be available at leeu.live.

The Conn Center is located on the corner of 11th Street and Paul Conn Parkway on Lee’s campus.
