Lee Named to 2025 Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll

Admissions, News

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society has named Lee University in its 2025 Transfer Honor Roll, a recognition given to four-year colleges and universities with dynamic pathways for supporting the excellence and success of its community college transfer students. This year, the recognition was bestowed upon 251 universities.

“Being named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Roll is a testament to our dedication to supporting community college students and their seamless transition to Lee University,” said Elizabeth Pace, director of Undergraduate Admissions at Lee. “We are committed to providing transfer students with the resources, opportunities, and support they need to thrive academically and personally. This recognition underscores our efforts to make higher education accessible and rewarding for all students.”

The Transfer Honor Roll is based on analysis from the National Student Clearinghouse and data submitted through the transfer school’s profile. The Honor Roll is chosen from among the top 25 percent highest-rated colleges. Colleges are selected based on their Transfer Friendliness Rating, determined by data populated in PTK Connect, an online tool that helps students find their best-fit colleges and career pathways.

“I’m proud of the transfer outcomes we’re seeing at these Honor Roll colleges,” said Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, president and CEO of PTK. “These colleges are doing more than just opening doors—they’re walking students through them. Their commitment to creating clear, supportive pathways demonstrates what’s possible when student success is truly the priority.”

A college’s Transfer Friendliness Rating is determined by 40 key metrics related to the support and success of transfer students, including college cost and financial aid, campus life, admission practices, and bachelor’s degree completion. Through PTK Connect, students can view a college’s Transfer Profile, which includes information on cost of attendance, campus life, and admission practices, and determine whether the school is a good fit.

This year’s Honor Roll features exceptional outcomes, including 56% average of the undergraduate population being transfers, a 75% percent average bachelor’s degree completion, an 81% average of credits transferred toward a degree plan, and a 74% average percent of transfer students receiving merit-based financial aid.

Though Lee University has welcomed more than 300 PTK students since fall 2018, the honor roll is based on how the university serves all transfer students.

PTK is the first honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them to grow as scholars and leaders. The Society is made up of more than 4.3 million members and nearly 1,250 chapters in 11 countries, with approximately 220,000 active members in the nation’s colleges.
