Illusionist Harris III to Perform Sunday in U-Church
On January 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lee University Conn Center, illusionist Harris III will open the Spring U-Church season.
Harris’ performances amaze audiences, wakening them to the lure of deception, the power of the senses, and the secret of living life based on deeper realities. Harris said “The Bible encourages us to walk by faith, not by sight because our senses can always be fooled; however, people are discovering the truth, and that truth is setting them free.”
Since receiving a magic set from his grandmother at the age of 9, Harris III has been fascinated with magic, illusion and how easily the senses are deceived.
Harris gave his first public performance at age 11. Today, at 27, he is a classically trained, award-winning, master illusionist, and an expert in the art of deception. He has performed for 1 million people in more than 12 nations on five continents.
For Harris, magic consists of so much more than simple tricks. To him, it’s about creating works of aesthetic value that create a sense of wonder. “It’s not about fooling the audience and making them feel stupid,” said Harris, “yet magicians across America have taken on the attitude of—look what I can do that you can’t.”
Radio host and author, Dave Ramsey said of Harris, “It’s great to hear a young voice of reason in a world mesmerized by deception. Freedom, financially and spiritually, comes from knowing truth and Harris III dares you to look behind the curtain.”
U-Church is a free, non-ticketed event for students, alumni, and the community.
