DuRoy to Present Organ Recital at Lee

Jason DuRoy, adjunct instructor of piano and organ at Lee University, will perform on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lee Chapel.

The recital includes masterworks for organ such as Widor’s “Symphony 5” and “Symphony 9,” Langlais’ “Fete,” Bach’s “Toccata in F” and “The ‘Jig’ Fugue,” and Reger’s “Fantasy on ‘Wachet Auf.’”

Others works being performed are Shearing’s “I Love Thee My Lord” and Lemare’s “Irish Tune from County Derry (Danny Boy).”

DuRoy has performed extensively throughout the region as a recitalist, concerto soloist, chamber musician, and opera accompanist. He is a former student of Chattanooga organists Walker Breland and David Friberg, as well as Robert King and Andre Lash of UNC-Greensboro.

DuRoy is an assistant director of music ministries in addition to being the organist at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church near Chattanooga.

The event is free and non-ticketed, and members of the community are welcome to attend.
