A Top-Tier, Christ-Centered Experience

Welcome to Lee University, in scenic southeast Tennessee, where the Tennessee River carves through the Appalachian foothills. We offer well over 150 programs of study from associates to doctoral degrees, but our original focus – and still our mission more than a century later – is to create a safe but challenging environment in which our students can develop and prepare for a complex and demanding world.

Expect
Something
Great

We have a phrase around Lee, Expect Something Great. We think the college experience should be much more than just academic excellence. At Lee, we expect our students to experience transformational relationships with faculty, with other students, in campus life, and as they move into their calling.

Amber Montgomery

Amber Montgomery graduated from Lee in 2007 with a degree in human development, with minors in psychology, Bible, and a K-8 teaching license. She is currently in her 13th year teaching elementary education at the new Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School in Cleveland. Over her 13 years of experience, she has taught Kindergarten, first, second, and fourth grade. According to Amber, it wasn't always easy to start over in a brand new school, classroom, or grade, but Lee University gave her the tools and strategies she needed to be successful no matter what grade she taught or situation she faced. “I have been blessed over the years to be named teacher of the year in both Bradley County and Cleveland City Schools, received the Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching, and named Tennessee Tech's Mentor Teacher of the year,” said Amber. “My career and accomplishments would not be possible without Lee's knowledgeable and caring education department.”
