Dr. Delia Price joined Lee as a part-tim e faculty member in 2009, teaching in Early Childhood, Elementary and Special Education. In 2013, she joined the full-time faculty of the Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Secondary Education. Prior to Lee, Price served in the public school system for 25 years, serving as a middle school English language arts teacher, high school recovery teacher, and, later, an assistant principal and principal in middle schools. She has taught in urban, suburban, and multi-language schools. Price currently serves as a volunteer mentor to new teachers in surrounding districts and works with veteran teachers on special projects in order to stay well connected to the work in the k-12 environment. Price earned her doctorate in leadership and professional practices from Trevecca Nazarene University, her master’s degree in administration and supervision from Trevecca Nazarene College, and her bachelor’s degree in secondary English education from Tennessee Temple University. Areas of continued research include excellence in clinical practices for teacher preparation, practices for working in high-need environments, and teacher retention.
