In 1999, following 15 years as music minister, worship leader, and composer in residence to Shady Grove Church in Grand Prairie, Texas, composer and conductor Dr. David Holsinger joined the School of Music faculty at Lee. His duties include teaching instrumental conducting, orchestration, and composition. Holsinger's compositions have won four national competitions, including a two-time ABA Ostwald Award, the oldest and most prestigious band composition contest in America. He also received Lee’s Excellence in Scholarship Award and was named Lee’s Honorary Alumnus of the Year in 2004.
