Lee University’s Theatre Program will host two camps this summer. Kids Theatre Techniques, for ages 8-12, and Teen Storytellers Camp, for ages 12-17, will take place at Lee’s Communication Arts Building June 6-10.

In Kids Theatre Techniques, campers will learn performance techniques focusing on confidence on the stage and character development. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day, campers will work with Lee theatre students and faculty to practice and refine their skills.

Teen Storytellers Camp is also held each day from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. During this time, campers will write original plays using improv and creative exercises to make new works. Lee theatre students and faculty will be available to assist and encourage campers in their playwriting and creativity.

“A lot of time students with wild imaginations or natural performance gifts are seen as odd or uncool,” said Dan Buck, associate professor of theatre. “At Lee Theatre camps, no one is cool, and it’s the best!”

Registration for each camp is $150 per student, and snacks and a T-shirt are provided.
