Your Story Matters

Like family, we want to know when something big happens in your life. We want to celebrate your achievements and life milestones with you--marriages, births, new careers, business ventures and the incredible ways you are making a real difference in your community. We want to share your stories with our entire alumni family--because your stories can inspire us—motivate us—and remind us how much we can learn from each other. Your story matters to us!

This page is dedicated to our alums’ stories of commitment, service, inspiration, love, career and legacy. Let’s celebrate these marvelous individuals and their life journeys together!

LOVE

Norma Bray Brown (‘67)

Ron and Norma just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.  Norma and Ron are a beautiful example of love and commitment.  Norma says the theme for their marriage and life together has been Benny Triplett’s song, Trust in the Lord. It was sung at their wedding on June 17, 1967.  Norma says, “Our faith is founded on leaning not on our own understanding but acknowledging Him in all our ways.  And, 1 Cor. 13:4-7 declares truth for all marriages, that LOVE covers it ALL.”

While at Lee, Norma was a co-founder and charter member of Sigma Nu Sigma. Ron and Norma make their home in the great state of Illinois. Two of their three children are Lee University alumni, Ronda (Brown) Schoeneberg, Orlando, FL, and Anthony C. Brown, Waterloo, IA, while their youngest son, Ryan Brown, Chicago, IL, graduated from the Atlanta Institute of Art!  Norma and Ron are happily blessed with six lovely grandchildren.

LEGACY

Phil (‘10) & Audra Munro (‘88) Iannarone

The Iannarone family is a wonderful representation of the significance of legacy at Lee University. When all 5 members of a family are Lee graduates that’s a pretty big deal!  Audra says, “I love that our entire family gets to share the Lee Experience, we have all been shaped into the people we are today by our time at Lee.”

Phil and Audra reside in Chattanooga, TN where Phil serves as the principal at Central High School. Phil completed his EDS degree at Lee in December of 2010. Audra has worked at Lee for 22 years and in June became the new Coordinator for University Relations. They have two daughters who both attended Lee. Emily Iannarone ‘16 is a service advisor at Unum in Chattanooga and Erica (Iannarone) Gerry ‘18 is married to Conner Gerry ‘19. Conner is serving our country in the U.S. Air Force.

CAREER

Brice Sharp (‘14)

Brice just accepted a teaching position at his high school alma mater, Walker Valley High School, in Cleveland, TN. He and his wife Amber Kienlen Sharp (’12), along with their son Bryson Isaiah, are proud first-time homeowners. Brice credits his professors at Lee with equipping him with the tools he now uses to effectively teach his own students. Brice says, “The life-giving relationships I was able to develop with my professors over the duration of my educational journey was and continues to be a major influence in the healthy relationships I establish with my own students now.  If you want to inspire others just be who you are. My students, family and friends know me to be a genuine, man of integrity and encouragement. I am a strong advocate for doing what you are passionate about, living without limits and loving others unapologetically.”
