• Either the respondent or the complainant may appeal the decision of the investigator(s) to the VPSD and/or the Title IX coordinator or a designee based on the following grounds:

    • A procedural error occurred, which may change the outcome of the decision; or
    • The appellant has substantive and relevant new information that was not available at the time of investigation and that may change the outcome of the decision.

Disagreement with the investigator’s findings or determination is not, by itself, a ground for appeal. Appeals of the investigators’ decision must be received by the VPSD, the Title IX coordinator, or a designee within one week of the date of the final report. Ordinarily, appeals will be decided within two weeks, and the VPSD and/or the Title IX coordinator will promptly inform the parties of the outcome in writing.
