Leadership Development

“Leadership development is a never ending process” (Conger and Benjamin, 1999 pg 12), and the Student Development office seeks to encourage students on their leadership journeys by providing challenging developmental experiences and support to students.

The Student Development office, in conjunction with the SLC, offers the Student Leadership Development Conference each fall and the Focus Leadership Seminar in the spring. Dr. Mike Hayes teaches a student leadership development class each semester (GNST 301), and the office also keeps an extensive resource library students may use. Mentorship and consultation services are available for individual students and clubs.
