Motor Vehicle Registration & Parking

Every individual who maintains or operates a motor vehicle on the Lee University campus must register each vehicle with the Department of Campus Safety at the beginning of the semester or within 24 hours of being brought to campus.  The parking fee is included in the Student Bill and covers the cost of the first permit. Replacement permits are available for a charge of $30 each.  The vehicle's State Registration with license plate number and driver's contact info is required for registration of the vehicle.

Permit Placement

The following directions will detail how to apply the static cling parking decal:

  1. Make sure the surface where the decal is to be mounted is clean and dry.
  2. Remove the protective paper backing from the parking decal.
  3. The decal MUST be placed on the LOWER FRONT WINDSHIELD, PASSENGER SIDE.
  4. Position decal against the glass and rub downward.  This is held onto the windshield by static; no glue or tape.
  5. The decal is designed to adhere to the inside of the windshield, facing out.

Permit MUST be properly displayed when the vehicle is parked on the campus of Lee University.

Parking Regulations
All motor-driven vehicles must be registered with the Department of Campus Safety every school year in order to obtain a parking permit tag.

  • Student vehicles are assigned to an off-the-street parking area but are not assigned to a specific parking space. Students will be assigned a specific parking lot designated by their parking permit tag. Parking is on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Regular patrols are made of the parking areas and vehicles illegally parked are ticketed and/or immobilized. Being assigned to a public lot does not assure the student of a parking space in that lot. This does not, however, give permission for a student to park in an unauthorized space or parking lot.
  • Students without a handicap-parking permit, parking in a marked handicap space, will be ticketed and/or towed. Students parking in a fire lane will also be ticketed and/or towed.
  • Due to the growing demands for campus parking, freshmen are discouraged from bringing automobiles to the Lee University campus. Those who choose to bring cars will be assigned to auxiliary parking lots, which are not contiguous with residence halls but are within walking distance.
  • Students who have not completed 30 credit hours are assigned a Freshman parking permit regardless of dorm assignment. Any student who is classified as a Freshman at the beginning of the fall semester will not be allowed to exchange their Freshman permit for an upperclassmen permit until fall registration of the following year regardless of credit hours completed. All students must park in accordance with their current parking permit or they are eligible to be ticketed.
  • Vehicles parked in a no-parking zone or blocking dumpsters, driveways, or automobiles will be ticketed and/or towed. Vehicles that are not parked in a marked parking space will be ticketed and/or towed. Commercial towing companies are permitted under law to charge a full towing fee when they attach a vehicle to their wrecker even if the vehicle is not moved.
  • All faculty, staff, and administrative personnel are required to comply with parking regulations.
  • Lee University is not responsible for lost or damaged personal property and/or vehicles.
  • Students vehicles parked on campus are subject to search under the same conditions as provided for student rooms in residence halls.
