• Simmons Hall is conveniently located on the Pedestrian Mall next to the Deacon Jones Dining Hall. Residents enjoy close proximity to classroom buildings, the Science and Math Complex, and the DeVos Student Recreation Complex. Each bedroom contains two extra-long twin beds, two chests of drawers, two desks with chairs, two closets, and a sink/vanity. Students have access to a furnished TV lounge and community kitchen on each floor. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and a stove/oven, and cabinet space. Renovated community bathrooms and showers, along with coin/card-operated laundry facilities, are also located on each floor. A unique feature of Simmons Hall is that it is connected by a hallway to Nora Chambers and Tharp Hall.

    Resident Director

"By being an RD, I am able to help, encourage, and love young women who are in this monumental time of transition in their lives. I was impacted by Residential Life and Housing, and now I want to create lasting memories for my students as well. Nora Chambers and Simmons Halls are places where laughter, joy, tears, and lots of pajama parties happen, but it is also where the Lord is found, community is built, and authentic relationships are made. What better way to live out the fullness of Jesus by doing what He did: Living with people in their everyday lives. I love watching young women grow into the women God has so uniquely created them to be. By the end of the year, my hope is that each resident will leave knowing their worth and thriving in the passions the Lord has placed within them. My hope is to see each and every one of them leave knowing that they have the opportunity to love the world around them."

    Community Outreach

This year, Nora Chambers & Simmons Hall will continue to partner with an organization called The Zion Project. The Zion Project helps women and teens who have been sex trafficked around the Chattanooga and Cleveland area. We are thrilled to bring awareness to this issue within our community, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something that mirrors the restoration we find in Christ.
