Rules
- Coaches will be responsible for line-up 10
minutes prior to the scheduled start. Insuring
the eligibility of players is the responsibility of
the coach.
- A team may play with as few as eight and bat
with as many as eleven. If a team plays
with eight, the team must take an out when the ninth
batting position comes up.
- Game time is forfeit time.
- Games will have a 45-minute time limit. There
must be more than 5 minutes left in order
to begin a new inning.
- Games will be called after the:
3rd inning if a team has a 20 run lead.
4th inning if a team has a 15 run lead.
5th inning if a team has a 10 run lead.
- Home run limits:
A League and Women’s: No home run limit.
B League: 1 home run per person, 3 per team. All others
will be an out.
- Two game balls will be provided per game. Teams
must play with the official ball provided by
the Intramural Supervisor.
- Team coaches must notify the official
scorekeeper of any line-up changes.
- Once a team has batted through the line-up, the
team may not add any more batting slots.
- Balls hit beyond the boundary line are “out of
play”. Overthrows into this area will cause the
base runner to be awarded two bases from when the
ball is thrown.
- Batter will start with a 2 ball/2 strike count
and will receive 1 free foul.
- Spectators will not be allowed on the playing
field or on top of the dugouts. Players must also
stay within the dugout during their teams at bat.
Repeated offenses will result in a
penalty including default.
- If a player becomes injured “time” will be
called immediately.
- If a runner is struck by a batted ball in front
of an infielder the runner will be out.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.
Those instigating flagrant contact will be
ejected. Players ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct
must meet with the intramural director before their
next competition. All ejections carry a minimum one
game
suspension. Fighting will result in suspension from
the league.
Lee University participates
under the guidelines of the Amateur Softball
Association rules where applicable. This is a
partial list of rules and any rules not covered
on this list or the ASA rule book are at the
discretion of the Intramural supervisor on duty. |
