Rules
- The officials will be two referees using a dual
system of control.
- The official ball will be provided by the
Intramural department.
- During league play, if the score is tied at the
end of regulation play, there will be no
overtime.
- During Tournament play, the tie will be broken
by sudden death kickoff.
- The home team will be given the option of
choosing the goal to defend or taking the
kickoff.
- Teams will wear numbered jerseys (provided if
necessary).
- There will be a two-minute halftime
intermission.
- The ball is considered out of play when the ball
completely crosses a goal line or touch
line either on the ground or in the air. The ball
remains in play at all other times.
- A drop ball will be result at the spot of the
dead ball when two players contact the ball
simultaneously causing it to go out of play.
- A goal is scored when the ball passes legally
beyond the goal line.
- A direct goal may be scored by the following:
- Direct free kick, penalty kick, corner kick,
drop ball
- A direct goal cannot be scored on the following:
kickoff, goal kick, throw in
- A player will be considered offside if they are
within the goal box or penalty box prior to
the ball being passed to them. There are no other
offside fouls.
- The following fouls result in a direct free
kick:
- Handling the ball, tripping, holding, pushing,
slide tackling, striking, spitting
or jumping at an opponent, participation in a
dangerous play, goalkeeper
interference or obstruction.
- A foul occurring in the opponent’s penalty area
will result in a penalty kick.
- A throw in will be awarded when the opponent
touches the ball prior to it crossing
a touch line.
- A goal kick will be awarded when the attacking
team plays the ball over the goal line.
- A corner kick will be awarded when the defending
team plays the ball over the goal line.
