Danielle Shumaker, of Midland, Michigan, keeps busy with her involvement on the Lee campus. In addition to being a peer leader and benevolence lab assistant, Danielle also works in Lee’s writing center and as a writing studio facilitator.
Danielle served as the vice president of the national honor society Phi Eta Sigma and is now on the advisory board. Since being at Lee, she has received the Outstanding Freshman English Award and the Susan Rogers Scholarship.
She is also involved in Lee Theatre and has worked backstage and performed in “When Mountains Move,” a play written by Stacy Isom Campbell, Lee associate professor of creative writing.
After graduation, Danielle plans to attend graduate school to study rhetoric and composition.
