In order to better guide our students, Lee's
faculty and staff start by examining their own
sense of calling. Through a variety of
workshops, retreats and seminars, they study the
theology of vocation and learn how to address
the topic with their students. Programs
for faculty and staff include the Faith Learning
Institute and Faculty Mini-Grant Program.
Faith Learning Institute
The Faith Learning Institute is a five-year
program of theological exploration involving 150
faculty, staff, and administrators. In the
Institute, 10 cadres of 15 individuals
participate in a yearlong program (two cadres
per year) that explores the issues in three
phases: Discovery, Dialogue, and
Discernment. Through these phases, faculty
and staff have the opportunity for personal
reflection, dialogue with colleagues, and
interaction with student leaders.

Faculty Mini-Grant Program
The mini-grant program encourages faculty to
take creative approaches to introducing the
subject of vocation with their students.
Funds from this program support course
development, course revision, research, writing,
and other projects related to the exploration of
vocation. Funds will also be available to
host special speakers and campus-wide events.

Missions Trips
Funded in the original
grant, these short-term faculty-sponsored trips allowed participants to reflect
on calling as it related to hands-on service. Missions Trips are no longer
funded as part of the Poiema Project.
