Women's Tennis Outlook
The 2010-2011 Lady Flames tennis team is ready to build upon its No.18 final national ranking from a year ago. The team graduated two solid players in Ann Claire Butler and Melissa Grgat last spring, but have added two solid freshmen to support the experienced upper-classmen.
Seniors Kassidy Sherlin and Sara Anic will act as co-captains for this year's team and their experience the past three years will benefit the entire squad. Kelsey Gray is the lone junior and has had two very strong seasons as a member of the Lee team.
The 2010 sophomore class was vital to the success of the program last year. Returning are Tarah Garner, Katie North, and Emily Orist, and they will use what they learned last season to hopefully help drive their team to the National Tournament this spring.
Freshmen Jess Britten from Jefferson City, Tennessee, and Annie Sandberg from Hudson, Ohio, complete the roster as the two newcomers this fall. Sandberg is the top-ranked player in her USTA division in Ohio, and Britten will be looking to make a splash in the starting lineup come February.
